The SBLP has begun and with it comes some added responsibilities. Alex Chamberlain, one of the directors of the program came to survey our site and make recommendations as to how we can green our office and make our business more sustainable. The next goal is to take her recommendations and develop an Action Plan to be carried out over the next year. At the end of the year Alex will re-review our site with the goal of seeing her suggestions as well as our own implemented.
This process will require a lot of additional work as our attempt is not to just green our own office, but our whole building. Luckily, four students from the SIFE program (www.sife.com) at Boston College, which connects entrepreneurship with community service, will be lending their hands and minds to first call. These students, along with myself, will now comprise First Call’s “Green Team”.
Along with our Action Plan the SBLP hosts numerous round table events on relevant sustainability topics throughout the year. For more information on the SBLP or how to lessen your carbon footprint, please visit: http://www.sustainablebusinessleader.org/
